My client has a registered company in Kolkatta. But now she is mostly operating from Mumbai, so for all practical purpose she wants to shift the company from Kolkata to Mumbai. However, in Mumbai she does not have a permanent address, as she is living as a tenant. Her father is living in Jammu and there she has a permanent address. Can she shift the company to Mumbai ROC with her regsitered address as Jammu? What are the implications in case if it is possible?

First of all for change of registered office there is no need of any Address Proof.
However, in case the regisered office of the Company is shifted there is a need of any premises. If she does not own any premises then she must have hired the same, she can execute a rent agreement or other deeds may serve the purpose.
Dear Hemali, for transferring the registered office, there is not any requirement to have a permanant address of the director where the office is to be set out. The directors just to take any premises on rent and can start their operation. And in case any query arise in future, you may present the duly notarised rent deed to the authorities who ask for the address proof.
