Transfer for industrial training

Hello Friends,

I want to know one thing, while taking transfer for industrial training, one has to inform 3 months before the transfer to his current employer. Now my question is is there any specific way to inform our current employer? Whether oral intimation will be sufficient or written application is required or we have to fill any form for intimating our boss.

Please inform me as soon as possible..
