Yes it is mendatory to get consent of ICAI before transfer...

in the first year of articleship you can submit form 109

and

in other remaining articleship you should take permission from icai before signing form 109

uregntly  friends plz help me, it is necessary to sumbit the the identity card issued by icai for articalship at the time transfer of aticalship , i have not submitted to the icai , is my articalship is terminated or not ? 

friends one of my friend who have taken the transfer in first yrs without any restrication, but due to some reason he want to take further trasfer , he have not complited his 1st yrs , is it possible he tahe the transfer ?

and ur friend can take transfer in the first year without any restriction
