Well First of all should be clear about what u wanna do after getting degree,,,

Means Practise or Job?

Which Stream like Finance, income tax, Indirect Tax, Accounting, etc.

Now,, How to learn things at office --->

Thats too depend on what kind of Firm u are in,,

So, I'll tell u what i do.....

I wanna go for job in a Financing Company, and i work at medium sized firm in Mumbai, 

so here we have lot of Internal Audits, but as i m interested in Finance i Try to be in touch with the management of Companies, jst make them Frnds,,

Whenever m in office i never say No to anyone for Work, even if it takes extra tym at work,, Try to Remember last dates of Payment and Return Filing of As many Taxes as possible,, like i have done ROC Filing in November,,,

Whenever u get free tym at office utilize it in learning new things on computer,, like i hardly use Mouse now a days, (Thanx to Google and Our PC, dat crashed many tyms),,,

i am working in mid sized firm but i want to know is special knowledge of some particular software is required for doing accounts work, presently i am working on catpro

can u tell me details regarding bank audit, like ssome procedures

Software gonna change with your working location,, and they are easy to learn jst training of few days,,,, As u said u wanna go for Banking job, u'll have to work on a seperate software, so don't give it a damn,,

But u must be good at Microsoft office, and the important thing try to use keyboard for everything (use of touchpad or mouse should be minimized)

Now about banks----->

Banks are most preferable for anyone in Commerce,, But do u even knw a single section of Banking Regulation Act???

If no then ur time starts now, try to be in touch with these acts, but don't try to read Bare acts, it will jst make u bore,,, google it, take print outs of any important articles (Office ka printer kb kaam ayega ) Keep an eye on RBI's site too, they give nice infos. If u get a chance for any BAnk audit , don't miss it,,, if u don't then try to be in contact with articles who have these audits,,,

Audit procedures of banks---> No idea about this, but as i have heard my friends, they check random loans given by Bank, like if loan is secured against any machine of company, they'll demand to see that machinery, then bank manager talks to his client and send them to Bank's client place.....

i have finished my ipcc grp2 exams in nov 2012 and want to start articleship now

should i wait for the results in feb or start applying rightaway..

also is it true that articleship from bigfour is more suitable for those who want to do  job later?

Dude u shud not be waiting for ur 2nd group, it will delay ur fianl attempt, and when u r doing articleship, 2nd group bcoms more easy.

And yea u r ryt articleship in Bigfour will raise ur pay surely,, but the only reason of not prefering Bigies is "less/ no time for studies",, and if we see the current trend they have raised passing %age, its better to get Degree first,,, If u have full proof plan for balancing Studies and Articleship,, Join Bigies blindly,,,,
