Tds on sb interests

1. Indian Bank has deducted Tax from Interest paid on Interests paid on SB accounts. This is NOT reflected in Form 26AS. In fact I will get refund of those amounts. Will I get refund even if I show the income & TDS made though these are NZOT reflected in Form 26AS.

2. In fact none of Interest paid on SB account is also NOT reflected in Form 26AS. As per rule, Interest on SB account is also to be included in income & upto Rs. 10000 can be deducted. Then is it not necessary that all Interest payments on SB should be reflected in Form 26AS? With whom shall I take up these?

Simple fact is.......... Whenever any TDS is deducted (though not applicable over SB interest where it is below 10K)........... The bank has to provide TDS certificate.......

Also bank has to pay the amout deducted to Government treasury, & file its return.

As soon as TDS return is filed by deductor........ it gets reflected in deductee's Form 26AS, provided deductee has provided PAN.

There are heavy penalties to be paid by Deductor, if it collects TDS and do not pay it to treasury.

So, if it does not reflect in Form 26AS....... most probable chances are TDS would not have been deducted.......

or you would not have furnished PAN to bank.
