Hi 1. We have engaged Indian C&F agent for movement of material from abroad . 2. He is billing the Ocean Freight on us converting the contracted USD in Rupees. 3. He is engaging some other foreign liner for the movement. WHETHER TDS HAS TO BE DEDUCTED FOR THE BILLING ?? |

Your case is covered under 194C
Custome House Agent (CHA) pays freight & other incidental expenses to Shipping Companies.
Whether CHA should deduct TDS from such payment? If under 194C, how ? as CHA has NO CONTRACT with the shippping companie. Please explain.
