TDS deduction

TDS 414 views 3 replies

If an employer deductes TDS @ 10% on employee's salary till August 2011 and the employee is of the opinoin that October henceforth he will not have any salary income and the amount of TDS deducted till August 2011 will be more that the Income tax payable for the complete 2011. As his salary for the month of Sept and October 2011 is still receivable from the employer, can the employee request the employer not to deduct the TDS anymore as it will only increase the amount of refund while filing the income tax return. Thanks in advance.

Yes he can insist the employer as to not to deduct the tds by submitting form 15G/H.

I dont think there is any need to submit form 15G/H in this case.......he can simply compute his taxable income & show it to his employer......

Form 15G/H are meant to avoid tax deduction from INTEREST & NOT SALARY! Write an application to your employer explaining him your proposed NIL tax liability! this will do!
