18 June 2015I wonder : TDS is income tax deduction of third party & then deposition into government account by DEDUCTOR. But the service doesnot yield any cnosideration to deductor instead he has to spend money on hiring CA or purchasing TDS SOFTWARE and then uploading fees with NSDL. NSDL charges Service Tax , means what GOVT. AGENCY is doing is service but a dedcutor is doing "Samaj seva" to government. Correct me if I am wrong.

This is our undisclosed CSR activity which every TAN holder mandatorily doing and paying for it by way of interest/fees even for a day's delay.

It is a Swamaj Seva, you calculate, you deduct, you deposit after that make TDS return then go to authorised TDS facilition centre , wait in a queue , maintain proper record, and if any mistake for dalay deposit/ short deduction etc .... you will be punished .
