All expenses which are in connected with transfer of equity shares pursuant to section 111A are eligible to be deducted while calculating short term capital gains us 111A. However as per the seventh proviso to section 48, STT paid on purchase of share will not enhanced the cost of acquisition. further STT paid on sales of share will not be reduced from Sales consideration.
the STT will only be allowed as deductions when the income from.sales of shares are treated as part of the business income and be chargeable us 28 of the Act . then only in such a case , section 36 allows the Assessee to considered the STT as business expenditures.

neither STT paid shall be part of COA at the time of purchase

nor it will be deducted as expenses related to sale at the time of transfer (sale)

Of the following charges levied, what all can be added to purchase value to arrive at COA?
1 Exchange transaction charges
2 GST
3 SEBI turnover Fee
4 Stamp duty
5 AMC for demat account
6 DP Charges
GST in not chargeable on sales of Shares in accordance with Schedule 3 of Cgst act
