My dear Friends

November exam is approaching and most of our friends were under preparation for the exam. In this back ground, it is my humble effort to give some input for approaches to CA November exam.

Success to any professional examinations requires systematic approaches to the studies.  Your hard work may be of no use, if your approaches to the studies are improper.

If you want to write your examination in a better manner, then, please give your some valuable time for the following points.

1. Conceptual clarity

Whether you study theoretical papers or practical problems, concepts plays significant role.

”Concepts are like water since it does not have a particular format. According to the containers shapes, the shape of water will change”.

In a competitive exam like CA, there may be so many instances where you have to apply concepts on a real time basis on your exam.

Thus, CA exam is a conceptual test of your knowledge under a given situations.

If any of you find so difficult with materials, better opt for a good reference books where it become easy to catch the concepts in an easy way.  Good coaching classes, better DVD etc will serve your purpose.

The subjects like SFM, AMA, Cost and FM were predominantly based on the conceptual crux. If any of you have failed in these subjects indicate “Lack of conceptual clarity.

Thus, CA examinations are based on Concepts, concepts and concepts.

2. Method of studies

Most of the students were prefer to study by mind reading. By reading method, you can quickly finish your syllabus. However, there is a chance to forget quickly and finally leads to peer tensions when your examinations are closer.

Reading method is least the effective method since if you learn new things, the older one will be erased or diluted.  Putting all the information together the day before exam may find it difficult. All these leads to peer pressures, Lack of confidence and ultimately poor exam performance.

Do the following for effective learning

1.Mind read the concepts first and understands it.

2.Write the concepts in a note book by point to points. Giving suitable margin number, Heading and sub heading.

After documentations, try to recollect the concepts with the help of your key notes.

3.Good revision schedules have to be made in frequent intervals. Give equally importance for revising.

Note making and good revisions are the gate way to understand the concepts in an effective manner.

Handling your practical subjects

As far as the practical papers are concerned, try to solve the problems based on the concepts. Try to solve different and variety of problems.  Also documents the concepts in a note book.

If you can able to solve the problems without referring the solutions will be more effective since there are many points you may struck and there may be an opportunity to think and commit mistakes.

If you commit a mistake, then, understand how you commit the mistake and correct it and improved upon.

3. Exam  presentation skills

Examination is just a game of 3 hours.  Your hard work will not serve any purpose, if you fail to present the answers in a better way.

a) Value added answer (VAA)

Your answers should be a value added answers (VAA).  If you are able to bring some additional relevant points in your answers during your exam, then, it will become a value added answers.  This value addition is your contributions.

b) SLIM Concepts

Modern days are giving more emphasis on slim concepts.  What you have learned may be bulky. Convert that bulky content in to the precise one.

Write it point to point basis with suitable heading and subheading wherever it is required.

Never try to write irrelevant area for making your answers more. Writing irrelevant point is just like mixing milk in to water and will not serve any purpose.
