IN CASE OF DAY TRADING, TREAT THE STOCKS AS INVENTORY ITEMS..... PRICE THEM UNDER WEIGHETED AVG METHOD......... ie TOTAL PRICE/NO. OF SHARES........

first u create the stock item with different scrip name. in case of day trading, pass the purchase and sale through purchase and sales voucher respectively and  just put the name of the stock items and the value and dont put the quantity...by this u will get the speculative profit fom the difference of the purchase and sales from day trading... in case of taking delivery of sahres follow the same procedure as above but put the quantity there...by this u cn get the short term capital gain/loss......one thing to note that u have to create two seperate vouchers purchases as well as sales -one for day trading and another for taking delivery....this is the simplest how u can track both the speculative profit/loss and STCG/L in tally...u can also try some complicated procedure....

hope u will understand....

Thanks dear i think now i am able to do it easly.

welcome...

say 4 example if u purchase RCOM today and sell it today then pass the purchase entry through "share purchase(day trading" and the sell entry through " share sell( day trading)". for this create these two voucher type. then after all such transactions transfer the profit in the "speculative profit a/c".
In case of shares of which delivery is taken pass the purchase through " share Purchase(delivery)" and sell through "share sell (delivery)" vouchers. create theses two type of vouchers... after passing all the transactions transfer the net result of these two transactions to "short term capital gain account".
one thing to note...while recording the day trading transactions dont put the quantity just put the value...but in case of taking delivery put the quantity as well as value.. the share scrips will be treated as stock item...from this u can easily find out the closing balances of shares in your hand....
u first create the stock items, then create the voucher type..then give some demo entry...if u find it ok then proceed...
try this...and reply me if u have any probs..

Dear Sudipta Sinha,

i am thankful for your guidence but i am not able to do entries transfer entries of speculative profit and STG please clearify it. with example

I have one question regarding share transaction entry in Tally 5.4 ver.

I have my demat account with some company

when i do transaction either day or delivery my profit or loss will be retain with the same company in the form of cash balance

then how can i judge my loss or profit and how can i transfer

For Rajendra Agrawal

in case of transactions either day or delivery, when u sell shares u realise the profit or incur the loss may be it is retained with the company in which u have demat a/c. if u see the daily contract note uor relaised profit or loss is stated there....u r buying the shares in one price and selling the same in another....hence this will result in either profit or loss....and accordingly u can record thid in the books of accounts....
