Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether GST officers have the authority to stop and inspect a vehicle carrying goods valued at less than £50,000. While an e-way bill is typically required for goods exceeding this value, Section 68 of the GST Act allows officers to inspect any consignment. Therefore, officers can indeed stop and inspect your vehicle regardless of the goods' value.

Registered Person - Eway bill must be generated when there is a movement of goods of more than Rs 50,000 in value to or from a registered person. A Registered person or the transporter may choose to generate and carry eway bill even if the value of goods is less than Rs 50,000.

Sir I m not asking about e-way bill, actually I m asking whether gst office stop and inspect my vehicle even if the goods inside it are less then 50000.since wording of section 68 are "the gov may require the person in charge of conveyance carrying any consignment of goods of VALUE EXCEEDING SUCH AMOUNT AS MAY BE SPECIFIED (I.E 50000) to carry with him such documents and devices as may be prescribed " toh agr specified amount se km carry kr re h tb?

A way bill is typically required to accompany goods on their movement from consignor to consignee.

Yes they can irrespective of consignment value
