wen a person has a property in naraina industrial area and he uses d property for residence,would that property be treated as residence for selling and claiming exemption under section54

yes but only if when the person purchsed the property so the same was residential............

if your client acquired a Commercial property then tyhe same cannot be treated as resdiential property..............

Hey thanx but can u tell me one more thing in case the client is using the basement for official purpose and upper floors for residence in naraina industrial area then can he claim exemption u/s 54 for the whole property?

if he acquired the whole property as residential then he can claim ded. otherwise he will not be able to do the same..............
