Till date Secretarial audit is not compulsory for the companies. However, the ICSI has taken initiatives and number of big companies are on its own for good corporate governance go for secretarial audit.It is a audit of all sort of legal compliances/corporate law compliance of the company in order to protect the inbterst of the company/share holders.
