Stipend received by post graduate students like MD, MS etc is tax-free. [exempt u/s. 10(16) of IT act]

Whenever stipend is taxable, it will fall u/h. 'Salary' and not u/h. 'IFOS'.

Well not come across any such case so far..... but you can check salary slip or Form 16 issued by hospital or form 26 AS and decide if any TDS has been deducted over it.
Advised to follow form 16 now-a-days.
But as per my assumption when some part is specifically given as stipend (to final yr students) it must be exempt.
