Sales tax returns filing
If sales tax return is filed with mention of pending c-forms ; maharashtra sales tax deptt. immediately issues demand note for sales tax difference . Many large corporate companies do not file their returns in time and hence are unable to issue C- Forms to their vendors . These companies protect themselves by paying meagre penalty of rs.10000 . In the process their vendors are in soup as they do not get C-forms from such large scale companies . For example ; Jayaswal Neco Industries Nagpur are still not able to issue C-Forms for the bills of 2nd quarter of 2014 - 15 as on 20/06/2015 . Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. Raigarh have still not issued C - Forms for my bills of last quarter of 2014-15 yet as on 20/06/2015 .What is the solution for such problems .

It is the responsibility of the both the persons to issue / collect C Forms. I have seen many cases of such and suggest you to follow up rigorously with the vendor for C forms as its all online for most of the states.
Else if all the things are not working in your favor, suggest you to amend the business terms with the vendor as you end up paying the taxes and penalties.
