Quick Summary
When selling land, there are limits on how much cash you can accept. Section 269SS of the Income Tax Act generally prohibits receiving cash payments of ₹20,000 or more for the sale of immovable property. While some discussion points mention a ₹200,000 limit, the prevailing legal guidance points to ₹20,000 as the threshold under Section 269SS for cash transactions related to land sales.

Upto 200000 rupees you can take in cash

You may accept <20,000 in cash in case of sale of land as per section 269SS of IT Act.

Less than 20000/- under section 269SS
When he is taking cash at the time of transfer of property how can 269SS come into picture?
i think only 269st would be in play in this scenario
Because 269SS specifically disallows receiving cash >=20,000 related to sale of immovable property.
Agreed
