hello guys I CLEARED my ipcc group 1 nov attempt i am regular bcom student from du 2nd yr but now as i passed my articleship so i want to convert it into OPEN SCHOOL OF DU AFTER MY FINAL EXAMS IN MAY 2011

BUT AS A MATTER OF ARTICLESHIP I AM CONFUSED WHICH FIRM TO JOIN I AM IN GGN MY DAD IS AN ADVOCATE HE KNOWS MANY CA,S 1 OF THEM IS D OLDEST AND BIG CA HERE DAD ADVICE IS TO JOIN THERE

1 OPTION IS BIG 4 AS THEY R ALL IN MY CITY TOO BUT SOME1 TOLD THAT 1 HAS TO JO ARTICLESHIP IN 1 DEPT ONLY THERE FOR 3.5 YEARS AND THEY ALSO DUN AWARD LEAVE AND TIME FOR STUDY

I DUNT WANT STIPEND I JUST NEED VAST PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE OF TAX AUDIT ETC AS I WILL START MY OWN PRACTICE PLZ ADVICE GUYS WHAT TO DO

If your going to start PRACTICE than its better to join big midsize firms where you can get good exposure and knowledge in diff fields..In midszie you can learn diff fields and diff kind of cliens where you can update evrything..In big 4 only you will get one filed to update and one field of knowledge..

So its better to join midsize firms when your planning to start PRACTICE..

its my view, will see what others will say..

thank u guys bt 1 disadvantage of mid size firm is no social networking fro 3 yrs as they have only 1 2 or 3 artcicles isnt it

Dont run after social networking !! Let it run after you . Make the best Desicion for urself ! All depends on you !! medium firms have their own advantages if you stay focussed and to not get liberal in your training
