GST Registration is mandatory for taxpayers whose Aggregate Turnover exceeds Rs. 20 lakhs, whether it be a restaurant service provider or canteen. You just have to check the turnover criteria for the purpose of GST registration. If it exceeds Rs. 20 lakhs ( being the turnover threshold limit), then you have to apply for GST registration.
