Is the reimbursement received of medical bill for treatment of accident received by the state government employee taxable as perquisites. The treatment was for his son who had an accident. Treatment was done at approved hospital by the respective state department.

Medical reimbursement for the treatment of a state government employee's son is completely tax-exempt and is not considered a taxable perquisite, as long as the treatment took place at a hospital approved by the government. Since the post confirms the hospital is approved by the state department, the entire reimbursed amount is free from income tax.
