No, the has not been define in the Companies Act, but defination has brought from the Transfer of property Act.
Section 125 of the Companies Act 1956 has given a list which transactions will be treated as charges under this Act and need registration with Roc.
Pls go through the Sections 124 to145 of the Companies Act 1956.
