Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether a sole proprietor can claim GST Input Tax Credit (ITC) on a vehicle purchased in their personal name. The consensus is that ITC is generally not claimable on such purchases, as it falls under blocked credits as per Section 17(5) of the CGST Act. Exceptions apply for vehicles used for goods transport, resale, or driving school businesses.
