Regaining back of the lost charm of CA course.

CA Course need some changes. The Institute should take some tough & bold measurs such as,

1)Entrance(CPT) must be  tough,in the lines of CAT.It is to be remembered that CA is not for everybody.

2)During the tenure of Articleship no student should be allowed to undergo any course other than CA so that he can give his best to the course.

3)Papers on Advanced Financial Managment,Corporate finance,Interenational Finance,Risk Mgmt shold be immediately introduced to make CAs comparable to MBAs.

4) Compulsory Resedential Programme at Institute's own Campuses are very encouraging but duration should be at least for 6 months.

5)Special Papers on Taxation.Internal Audit,Finance can be thought off.

Then CAs will sure to rise well above MBAs in the national & international market,

yes u r right!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, the lost charm can never be bought back till the committee of ICAI is replaced by peiople from the Industry not those idiots practicing in their offices and knowing nothing besides bribing govt employees......

hey koolleo, very strong words there from u. But u r right. Most of the CA's today are corrupt & get their work done through bribes & sweet talk with the authorities.

yes u r right!!!!!!!!!!!!!

after so hard study of ca -you know how much a ca get a fees of one audit ------------------------------------------------eve most of the case ---get his fees from clint very late and some cases ----clint not paid a single peny -----------in tuff competition era---------ca can't do------any thing ------------------------------------ecept have patiance---------------

why icai not decide    justified fees for every work of a ca------and why all ca are not united -----regarding this point------------------------

rite...dunno how thgs can change..bt dey shd surely..

ICAI shud also respect the fundamental rights of students as they are human beings and citizens of this democratic country.

Thereby it should stop forcing students to work with the person the register. They shud also mention what a student wanting a transfer shud do if the mutual consent is not there from his principal at the same time his parents are not shifting and also he is not interested in working with the person he is registered with?

There is no remedy to the above in the Act. This implies challenege to fundamental rights. It implie that the student will have to work with the person he has registered with even if he is not interested, he is dissatisfied, mentally and physically frustrated.

Without treating students (future members) well, it will be difficult to make any material progress.

In IIT, IIM, ISB...the alumni give back a lot to their institutes as they have been treated well in their student lifetime. In case of ICAI, there are hardly any people to attend the grievances. For doing CA, a student has to give up his fundamental rights???

Looking at the discussions in other forums where people have shared their experiences with their principals, I feel ICAI shud realise the fact that character, ethics have more importance in life than any knowledge/degree.

The ones who have made these regulations are no doubt wise people, i.e. The Esteemed members of the Council. With all due respect we appreciate the concern raised by the Council but the measures which are taken by it are very Arbitrary and they give undue powers to the Council and Principal, leaving the Article student at the mercy of them.

The council is made of present members but it also constitutes aspiring students who wish to become members in future.

Such regulations will widen the generation gap between the aspiring students and the members and will also rupture the relation leading to poorer quality of service from Articles. The entire motive of the Council will get defeated.

As a Student who has a deep passion for this profession I can only pray and hope that the implications should not be negative. The days to come shall tell us what is in store but as Professionals I feel we should be composed and remain focused on our duties and at the same time take up our grievances with the Council in a peaceful manner.

When the going gets tough, the Tough gets going!
