IT seems that our president and the council have wiped their hands off their obligations to curb dummy articleship.How can our president sir say all those who failed were overdependent on "private" coaching (Does he mean that icai coaching lene wale FAIL NAHI HOTE) AND were doing masti and majja during their articleship that's why they failed?

On dummy articleship, A.Chopra farmatein hain," In the recently-held meeting of the Council, we hAD THE OCCASION(chay naste ke saath) to discuss the INSENSTIVENESS of the articles towards the articleship training. We are unanimous in our concerns in this regard and want to ensure that this is stopped at its initial occurrence. We must tell our future professional torchbearers that they must realise and rise to the occasion; otherwise the time will dilute our strong and invaluable heritage and professional dignity. We also realise that this trend CANNOT BE STOPPED without the support of our members who are responsible for their proper training and maintenance of records in respect thereof."

About the results, he jokes,"At the same time, we would like to clear the MYTH caused by the RUMOURS SPREAD by various parties with VESTED INTERESTS with regard to release of results by ICAI BASED on demand and supply factors.
It has never happened in the history of ICAI that a student, who is otherwise passing, has ever failed.
Also, it is worthwhile to note that when economy was in the slowdown mode, the results were much better compared to the present when the economy is in much better shape. It clearly goes on to show that the results are based only on the performance of the students rather than any
extraneous factors.

Maybe he must take action on the coaching classes that take place in front of the institute building at ITO ( in PLB and IMA auditorium) rather than curbing the results. Even the topper of CA final has admitted in her interview that she took coaching classes.

This new president is such a fool ....

The way he is curtailing the result will only give rise to more dummy articleships and more registration in coachings....

Who on earth can clear this tough exam without coachings ????

Always in te hsitory of ICAI, results have been dependent upon demand and supply and not on any other factors.

I agree with Rajan and koole087.May be chopra is forgetting that we too are in the field of CA; and we may not be as chaalu as him; we certainly aint no suppandi.

ICAI has become a money minded Institute.
It is keeping the CPT passing result very high so that it gets huge funds in the form of fees.
Parents whose child clears the CPT are extremely happy.
They think that now their child will become a CA as they presume that just like after clearing CPMT or PET a child definitely becomes a doctor or an Engineer respectively. Has anyone heard a student once admitted in a MBBS or Engineering course never passing through.
Here in the case of ICAI the students are in for a rude shock. After clearing CPT clearing the CA Final may prove to be a dream never to be fulfilled . One may never be able to clear the CA Final exam.
Have you ever heard of Section 39 of Chartered Accountants Regulations Act 1988 which gives special powers to ICAI to REVISE THE MARKS of the students. The hidden meaning is that the ICAI can on its own free will decrease the marks of students. No one can challenge them.
Ever thought about the examiners checking our numerical papers. They are so intelligent that they can give you only 50 % marks even when your whole answer is perfectly correct.
The ICAI is always afraid to show us our answer books under RTI Act because they don’t want us to know the manner in which our answer books are being evaluated by the examiners and also how the real marks awarded to us are being decreased.
The ICAI is our GOD . It can do no wrong. Even in cases where ICAI announces that AS 30,31 and 32 are not in course for the May 2010 Final (New) and in the exam it gives a full question of 18 marks in the Accounting paper.
Our revered ICAI notifies that SEBI guidelines are not in course but again in the paper of Corporate Law gives a question of 6 marks.
The above examples show that ICAI is very much concerned about its brand image that they are equal to god, as far as future of students is concerned.
The previous years results were good as compared to this year. We can say that the present years results are the worst.
The only option is to approach the Courts for showing us our answer books.
We can also go to Hon’ble Supreme Court or Hon’ble High Court to get the Section 39 of Chartered Accountants Regulations Act 1988 declared as being unconstitutional, against public policy, against the Right to Education under the disguise of which the ICAI is playing havoc with the future of the students.
