Just couple of questions for new gst registration.

1. I am individual selling books online under my own name. I don't have any company. Can I register for GST with my name instead of company.

2. If I am working from my own home which is owned by my grand father. What proof do I need to submit for principal place of business.

1. Yes, but firm registration in your name would be required

2. Current telephone/Light bill and rental/consent letter of the owner.

Yes you can register in your own name.

In case of proof for principle place of business, you should obtain no objection certificate for use of house premise for your business without rent ( in case of rentfree use of property)

if rent is paid to grandfather rent agrrement shall suffice

@ supriya ma'am do I need to register firm in my name to be able to apply for GST under my name.

Secondly since books are exempted, would I be still required to file monthly returns of GST for sales made online?

You said befor you sell in your name, So i assume youe are having proprietory business ( along with shop act lisence) in your name.

If not then you will have to obtain the lisence as registration of business in your name.
