Query on Internal Audit process

This query was posted few days back but strangely it disappeared shortly after posting(after the site was down for maintainance). Here is the query again: In what all ways internal audit process is going to be different in ERP environment compared to internal audit process in non ERP based environment ? Please explain in Detail

In ERP environment, an Internal Auditor need to know the ERP package to perform his audit. In any good ERP package like SAP, Oracle, Movex, Business Object., an internal auditor can get verious reports from ERP itself so if he dont know the system properly then he will not be able to get the benefit of the ERP package. Even he will not be able to check any system defaults if he has very poor ERP knowledge. On the other hand in non ERP environment the internal auditor will do his routine check and give his comments as per his calculation. Here system envolvement is much less and he will get the oppertunity to check details with hard copy documents and make his reprots.  So internal auditor need to get training on respective ERP package before performing any internal audit in ERP based environment.
