We have purchase goods on 12th july 17 and availed ITC now I have to return the goods , what will be the treatment?
Return the goods on sale invoice and charge GST.
Tax invoice will be a better option because you have to pay GST on that to govt which you will charge on the invoice.

No....
Don't be create Tax Invoice for Purchase return. You ll be give Debit note...
In case you ll be give Tax Invoice then it reflected Your TURN OVER. So, Don't be use Tax invoices for Debit Note...

Its purpose of Return the Default/Damaged materials to Supplier/Customer. Also using this any rate difference in transactions.
Yes.
You can charge Tax in Debit Note and also receive Taxable Debit Note (It's your Credit Note) from your Customer.
But, Tax Charged only Taxable transactions.
