A foreign company acting as a partner in an Indian LLP is generally required to obtain a PTEC in Maharashtra to cover its own professional tax liability (capped at ₹2,500 per annum). This payment is generally a deductible business expense for income tax purposes. Please verify your specific registration requirements with a local tax consultant to ensure compliance based on the company's specific operational status in the state.
