Property registration by general power of attorney

A/c entries 230 views 3 replies

Propert purchased by A in 1992 for Rs.92000 by GPA, in 2013 A registers property in his name stating purchased for Rs 34 lacks(considration paid in cash, but actually no considration was paid as it was getting registered in his own name)

so the property should be shown at what price in the year 2012-13 and 2013-14.

Whether any tax is attracted in such case?

Actually, the owner (from whom A purchased the property) will get notice from the department for capital gains liability. Otherwise the entries in the books doesn't get altered by the registration formality.

but the payment is not made to the seller , actually the consideration is only on papers but in reality nothing is paid

Yes. Thats why I said: "Otherwise the entries in the books doesn't get altered by the registration formality."
