Please tell me the context you want to use the term promoter.

Let me tell you promoter can be the director of the company. But you can not replace the term director by promoter. For example minimum 2 directors should be there in a private company.

Hi Ankur.

We are establishing a cold storage company and i will be the director and my dad will be the excecutive director.
We will be raising funds from investment banks and vc's, as such can i take the role of promoter + director.
Are there any specific requirements for becoming a promoter? Can i use the term promoter when i am the director of the company or can it be only used in specific areas.

The company will be growing pan india in a matter of few years and we will have several people working with us. I want to overlook the company and be in total control of it now and in near future. Will the promoter tag be beneficial.

thanks!
