Procedure for exit from sez
A service tax assessee has an office in SEZ. He wants to take an exit from SEZ and move to a normal taxable territory. SEZ department has asked for a "No Dues Certificate" from jurisdictional service tax department. However, the service tax department has refused to give any such certificate. How should we proceed in this matter?

Department cannot refuse without any valid reasons. Ask the department to issue a letter of refusal indicating the reasons thereof. Also show the relevant prvision of STPI / SEZ to the department wherein it says No dues certificate is required for exit
