1. a bag contains 15 one rupee coins,25 two rupee coins & 10 five rupee coins.if a coin is selected at random from the bag, then the probability of not selecting a one rupee coin is

a).0.30                                                                                                                                                                 b).0.70

c).0.25                                                                                                                                                                  d).0.20

2. if a card is drawn at random from a pack of 52 cards, what is the chance of getting a spade or an ace

a).4/13                                                                                                                                                                   b).5/13

c).0.25                                                                                                                                                                    d).0.20

3. two coins are tossed simultaneously.what is the probability that the second coin would show a tail given that the first coin has shown a head

a).0.50                                                                                                                                                                      b).0.25

c).0.75                                                                                                                                                                       d).0.125

1.) the probability of selecting a one rupee coin is 15/(15+25+10) = 15/50 = 0.3 so probability of not  selecting one rupee is 1-0.3 = 0.7 so b is the answer

2.)there are 13 spades and 3 aces which are not spades so it is 16/52 = 4/13 answer is a

3)0.5 both the events are independent so whether the first coin is head or tail doesn't matter the probability of tail is still 0.5 in the second coin answer is a

at q.no.2).we know, there are 4 aces so why u write 3 aces??

what answer of 3rd question.

the 4 aces are of clubs, hearts, diamonds, spades now in the 13 spades ace of spade is already included so if we count the ace of spade again we would be counting it twice. so I added t the 13 spade cards, the ace of clubs, hearts, and diamonds or you can add to the 4 aces 12 cards of spades anyway number of possible cards is 16 so 16/52

3. the four possibilities for two independent coin tosses are

      1.H,H

      2. H,T

     3. T,H

     4. T,T

Now it is given that first coin is already head so 1 and 2 are the only possibilities in that 2 is the only one in which the second coin is tails so the probablity is 1/(1+1) (there are 2 cases in which first coin is head but only one case where 1st coin is head and second coin is tail ) so answer is 0.5
