Hello Caclubindia,

i want know that when will my service tax liability on GTA services will arise.

Date of payment : 21/04/2012

Date of Service : 28/03/012

Date of Invoice 31/03/2012..

Assuming the you are the receiver of GTA service...and liable to pay under reverse charge mechanism...

The POT shall arise in the month of April'12(21-Apr-2012)....and payment needs to be made by 5th/6th May'12....

Since the payment has been made within 6 months from the date of invoice....

{Amended Rule 7 of POT,2011)

POT will the be invoice date as it has been issued with in 30 days of completition of service And as it is for the month of march...the payment due date is 31st march

Dear mukesh, your reply shall stand if u assume from service provider's point of view(I.e. GTA)....but practically, mostly GTA services are covered under reverse charge by virtue of N/N 30/2012
