Hi,

I am studying for my final under new syllabus.I am refering to Padukas for adv.mgt accountingi.e cost mgt in old.

Now the padukas material is based on old syllabus only and they have not yet published book under new sylabus.

So can i continue referring the same or should i go for any other book for new syllabus and if so pls suggest he BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Continue to refer the same but at the same time please see that you also cover the remaining syllabus from Institute's Modules or any other publication which is available.

Its purely my personal opinion: [& not advice]

First of all understand that, there is no big difference between old syllabus and new syllabus for Advanced Management Accounting [Earlier called as Cost Management]

In new syllabus, some new areas like Time series, test of hypothesis have been inserted. No old topics have been deleted.

So its similar to the popular saying "old wine in new bottle ". Continue to study any material even if it is under old syllabus. But ensure that for new areas [like time series etc.] , update yourself atleast by going through ICAI study material.

Please don't take it otherwise Mani sir, but major portion of Marginal Costing (incl. Marginal v/s Absorption) has been removed from Old course & in new study material Marginal Costing has been shrinked to only 2 pages in name of CVP analysis. Further there are several new theory topics which has been inserted in New course of costing (e.g. Computer Aided Techniques, Cost Sheet, Uniform Costing, etc.), so I although I agree that old book for Cost management will be helpful but I don't agree that old book is good material for studying new course.
