i have opted for secondment of articles(regulation 54) for one year when i filled the form for secondment. can anyone please tell me whether i can join my former principal before the 1 year ends?

In the CA Regulations, there were provisions only for secondment of articleship and the consequent formalities to be followed for the same. Your particular problem was not there in that. So, I advise you to refer your concern to the ICAI e-sahaayata (under Articles Activity) given in below link. You will gets authoritative answer within 2 working days. Hope this helps.

Rule says you can opt for secondment at anytime after filling the proper form. but secondment period should be less than 1 year.
1 thing more. in case of secondment the former employer remains your employer and he will fill up your 109.
