YES SIR.AS YOU HAVE FILLED UP THE FORM.YOUR NOV 2016 ATTEMPT WILL BE COUNTED.YOUR MARKSHEET WILL SHOW ABSENT IN YOUR MARKS FIELD.

You can appear in May 2017 for both the groups and get rank.  Your absent in writting the examination in November, 2016 will not be treated as an attempt.  Best of Luck

The rank is decided upon each exam separately and does not get affected by your previous exams.

The main condition is to give both groups at once by sitting in all 8 papers. 

That might be your 2nd attempt or 100th attempt, it does not matter

The rule to get rank is "One has to clear both group in one sitting without availing any exemption.

Thus, Merely filling examination form for Nov. 16 will not effect if you secure rank in next attempts

Even if you appear in exam and get exemption in one subject(but could not clear the group), then for next attempt you can surrender the exemption and re appear for  both group all eight paper, you can secure Rank.

Your answer is how to get rank in CA.  His question is if his one attempt, is there any impact in getting rank.  I say there is no matter.
