P/l accounts

Thanks for your prompt reply......the nature is ...whenever i am opening sales register, its  showing gross sales amount, but when i go throw P/l a/c it seems another amount, divided into various heads like 12.5%, 5%, 2%, same for purchase, but all these values doesn;t match from gross sales register........so please can you describe it for me.......thanks again.....!
