Quick Summary
This discussion explores whether Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) must file an Income Tax Return (ITR) in India. It clarifies that if an NRI has no income in India, or income below the taxable limit, filing an ITR is generally not required, irrespective of foreign assets or citizenship. The thread also touches upon specific scenarios like claiming TDS refunds and where to file applications for such claims.
Suppose NRI has refund via TDS in india but failed to file return. My question is where he will file return in india in normal assessment ward or international Taxation ward.
