Please share notification (not just the numbers) for notifying specified urban area. i have sold my land which is just about 2 kms from municipal area. I want to know if Mahasamund in Chhattisgarh has been identified as one of the areas.

I am attaching a book let on Compuation of Capital Gains (in pdf form). The said book let is published by Income Tax Department. The notification wherein the areas for urbanizations are notified is provided as an Annexure to the said book let.
You will not find Chattisgarh in the said notification. You please go through the places of Madhya Pradesh. When the notification is published by the Central Governemnt, the state of Chattisgarh did not come into existence.
Anyhow the place mentioned by you is not notified.

The notification that you've attached is dated 6th Jan, 1994. Haven't the notified areas changed by now? Where can we find the latest notified areas for AY 2012-13
