I applied for new registration and at that time I forgot to tick composition opt. now when I try to opt. composition it shows after march 18 I can apply for 18-19

Current FY not available for your case. You can wait FY 18-19....
You can opt for composition scheme on or before 16th August for FY 2017-18. I have confirmed with GST customer care, they said there is a misprint of FY 2018-19 instead of FY 2017-18.
