If you were not registered under the previous law but after GST you fulfill the registeration criteria, then you need to register within 30 days from the day when your liability to deduct tax under GST arouse. There is no fixed date for taking new registeration, it just depends when your liability to deduct tax under GST arises. However if you want to opt in composition scheme for this financial year, last date for registeration is 16th August,2017.
