ABOUT ME:

Residing at Calicut (Kerala), completed my +2 (science stream) from KV, dropped my Btech mechanical engineering after S3 due to sheer interest in finance and joined for CA… passed my CPT scoring 179 (was highest in Kerala), and now passed my IPCC both groups in my first attempt securing just 63% which includes a 96/100 for accounting…. Presently in search of an articleship firm….

My query:

Whether I would be able to get into any one of the following firms, if yes how?? If not, why???  Please help me friends for I don’t have any other source to seek help…..

Firms : BSR & Co (previously Bharat S Raut & Co) , SR Batliboi & Co, AF Ferguson & Co, C.C.Chokshi & Co., Fraser & Ross, P. C. Hansotia & Co. and S.B.Billimoria & Co; Price Waterhouse, Lovelock & Lewis.

Dear Sandeep,

First of all congratulations on passing IPCE. As far as your querry regarding articleship is concerned, since I am not from Kerala I am not aware about the CA Firms there. But to get articleship is not that tough as it sound (and not at all tough for a brilliant student like you). My suggestion to you will be to take few days out and make an application to your choice of firm through a personal visit and not by post and do remember its not only an article that requires articleship, its the other way round also. So keep your best foot forward.

Cheers........&............Best of Luck..................!!!!

Hi Nishant, Do u know any firm in Delhi as i've also cleared my IPCE exam in first attempt. But marks are only 57%. Presently i'm working in a prop. firm under a CA. ut i want to have knowledge in many fields. Further, i want to know what to do after reg. for Final. Means how to apply for articleship n is there any compulsory classes from institute

Dear Tanu,

First of all Congratulations on clearing your IPCE and welcome to CA Final.

As far as your querry regarding articleship is concerned, percentage doesn't matter much and since you are already working somewhere, your experience will make it easy for you to get into a CA Firm. But my sincere suggestion to you will be to join a CA Firm which along with practicle exposure provides you ample time to study and take classes. Its very important, as ultimately clearing exams will provide you a CA degree and not only articleship. This doesnot mean that you ignore articleship. To my suggestion articleship is an extreme important part of CA curriculam and should be done properly but since you can't take transfers. So choose wisely while deciding on any CA Firms.

Best of Luck...............!!!
