My sir said " go with dummy articleship" n do self-study.

Let me tell u friend...........who ever ur sir is must hav never done articleship himself otherwise would not hav dared 2 vouchsafe such consternating ideals......

However, articleship may apparently seem to be a wastage of time but this makes the difference when u go around seeking a job. There they ask u practical work-field related questions and there the dummy CAs get bowled out for a humiliating 'duck'. It can never thus be a wastage of time taken into consideration the pros it offers against its cons.

The cons are:

1. Generally in the months of July September and March u will be made 2 work very hard if u take up ur articleship in a direct tax specialization firm.

2. Some firms are late sitters.......that is they will make u work till say around 9 o clock in the evening.

3. Some principals are pretty inconsiderate and they never give u any leave for ur college exams.

but taken into consideration the immense amount of experience u harness out of the three enriching years you should never consider taking dummy.

My principal always tells me: " a dummy student will end up becoming a dummy Chartered Accountant.

Moreover, there is a very grave risk associated with taking dummy. If a raid is conducted by the ICAI; which they often do, u will be busted. literally, busted. They have the power to ban u for life even.

Articleship learns a lot & it will be helpful on so many aspect & mostly on self development

make you punctual in work 

Time management

Professional Ettiqutes etc.

it gives you so many contacts that will help you professionall as well as personally

I found so many c.a. they cleared but didnt get job due to these dummy articleship. 

Do your articleship in best possible manner.

Dummy articleship is not good because you will not get practical exp.

Also, you will not get good contacts with the clients and work environment.

When you are working you get exp plus money.

Actually you really work during the Articleship Training Period.

When you join a industry, your area of work is limited and you cannot penetrate to all departments.

During the study of high schooll, intermediate, B.COM, you had prepared the Balance Sheet, trading Account and profit and loss account, and now again you are preparing the BALANCE SHEET, TRADING ,PROFIT AND LOSS ACCOUNT IN C A COURSE. CMA Rakesh Singh (President of ICWAI, now ICAI): Articleship in our profession(CMA,CA or CS) is not a formality. It is for the benefit of the students. [Source: TV interview]

CA Praveen Sharma (Accounts) - I always keep classes in morning or evening but never during office hours for CA Final students because I feel articleship is necessary for every CA student. I am following this principle since I am in teaching profession. [source: Interview of Praveen Sir with CCI]

CA Dr. Girish Ahuja (Taxation) - You can not gain accurate knowledge of tax until you start your articleship. [source: once I had personal chat with him]

Dinesh Madan (IT SM) - You can not understand IT unless you do your ITT. (ITT is considered wastage of time by many students) [source: his Book]

Some other:

CA. Mayank Jain (My friend's law faculty): I always found SFM most typical subject in CA Final. If you want good hands on SFM, you should join any firm and work on this field more.

CA Monu Jain (My cousin, who used to guide me during studies): ICAI has done a big mistake by withdrawing the rule of Articleship just after Foundation. According to him, he even can not imagine how someone can get knowledge of subject unless he works on it practically.

Me (sorry chota muh badi baat ): We are leaders and not learners. But before becoming leaders we need to know how Both (leaders and lerners)  work.

Conclusion: Articleship is not for the benfit of ICAI, it is for our own benefit.
