Mutual Funds, Stock Deposit Limit of 10 lakhs in a Financial Year

Hello,

Can you help me with the below query?

It is clear from different online sources, one person may get a Tax notice if he/she deposits more than 10 lakh Rupees in the form of Cash deposits for Mutual funds and stock investments.  But does this limit of 10 lakh Rupees apply to Mutual funds or stock investments done via digital deposits through any stock broker like Zerodha provided that the source of that fund is legitimate and genuine? Can a person still get a notice if the investment is done digitally and the amount is more than 10 lakh Rupees?

Thanks in advance.

No notice, but investment reporting as per AIS.
