Hello ayushee these concepts are very easy.Open ended funds are those funds in which we can invest at any time means there is no lock in period whereas in close ended fund there is lock in period in most cases it is  3 years you cannot redeem, repurchase any units of mutual fund.one more difference is that in open ended NAV is calculated on daily basis whereas in close ended it is caluated on weekly basis.I hope ur doubt is clear. For any enquiry abt mutual fund do ask happy to help.

Thanks Piyush........

THANKS PIYUSH........m cleared

I further want to add that after the expiry of 3 years close ended mutual fund converts into open ended mutual fund.

Thanks Piyush
