To reduce the Tax burden of the employee, some companies providing Meals coupen to their employees. for example Rs.2000/- per month. Whether it comes under FBT?

If it is a sodhexo coupon, then it is specifically exempt.
Otherwise, any expenditure incurreed by employer by way of reimbursement of meal expenses or payment in cash is liable to FBT.
Please correct me if am wrong
Any expenditure on or through electronic meal card is not included in Provisions of Hospitality u/s.115WB(2)(B) and thereby not liable for FBT provided, such meal card should not be transferable, should be usable only at eating joints or outlets and it satisfies such other conditions, as may be prescribed.
