i am getting 1000 rs. per month as meal allowance.
which is part of CTC.
we are receiving this meal allowance in the form of Sodexho vouchers.
my question is that-
as we are paying for it and it is not freely provided by the employer.
what will the tax treatment??
or any other suggestion or treatment from your side
Unused coupons will be taxed..normally they reimburse it quaterly after deducting tax
If we don't choose to take sodexho in any month then that is added to our salary.
but if we take sodexho than,rs. 1000 in the form of meal allowance will not form part of our salary.
so they are recovering amount from us only.
Sodexo coupens are not taxable.
can you provide example or section???
Meal voucher is non taxable & same not been added to your annual taxable income.
can you give any section in support of it or any case law or example in its support
