Hi friends,

i am getting 1000 rs. per month as meal allowance.

which is part of CTC.

we are receiving this meal allowance in the form of Sodexho vouchers.

my question is that-

as we are paying for it and it is not freely provided by the employer.

what will the tax treatment??

or any other suggestion or treatment from your side

If we don't choose to take sodexho in any month then that is added to our salary.

but if we take sodexho than,rs. 1000 in the form of meal allowance will not form part of our salary.

so they are recovering amount from us only.

Meal coupen is a way to tax planning. If you dont go with Meal coupen then the same amout will be added into your salary and would be liable to tax.
