Major worry regarding articleship in big 4's

 Having a rank is definately an ace up your sleeve. But not necessary every ranker is selected in a Big4 for articles. College life is worth the time spent - I'd say something that shouldn't be traded. Final opinion should be yours. Big4 is good but articles abroad is better.

 My opinion would be do grads @ college and prepare for Intermediate.

What matters at the end are those two alphabets of trust. And your domain knowlegde and of course your attitude!

For functional knowledge, you can opt for a practical training centre to get a grip of the untouched areas during your articles.

Thank you so much for your reply ... Actually I have already decided to do study from correspondence later during articleship. But does it hamper my chance of getting into big 4 ? Do you know people who have got through without any degree and just on the basis of rank  ?

can you shed some information on articleship abroad , because I have no clue ? Industrial training for 1 year can be done abroad ?

With a rank at the Inter/IPCC/PCC level your chances of getting  into a Big4 for articles would be very high.

Once you are done with CA from a decent audit firm you'll live high on th hog! No looking back.

On doing articles abroad the sources of info would be the CA institute & the educational consultants.

Look for international certifications such as CPA,CFA,CMA(US),MSF, ACCA etc.

A CA in combination with any of the above would be a killa combo.

If you want I could suggest on the best countries to look for doing articles where standard of living would  be gnarley.

Yaar ,My brother is in PWC as an employee,have worked for Delloitte for 2 years in past.................................As per his knowledge only 2 things take it to Big 4

1.Rank

2.or Partner's reference
