ITR3 AY 2023-2024 - No Capital Gains - Error in Section BFLA

Hello Everyone,

Greetings for the day!

I'm filing ITR3 for AY 2023-2024.

I do not have any Income from Capital Gains to be filled, but need to Carry forward losses from last year.

Section CFL is properly populated, but I'm not able to see the set off in the Section BFLA.

When I click on 'Compute Set Off', it throws the following error:

"Please give quarterly break of LTCG and STCG according to values in Schedule BFLA in schedule CG Table F"

Kindly help.

The routine warning is not applicable to you as there is no CG in current year.

When CFL is correctly populating the carry forward losses, you have rightly completed the schedules. No need to fill anything now. Go for validation...

Dear Sir,

I am having long term gain, correctly filled in CG and !!2A sheets including quarterly entries. still it gives same error. Due to this error JSON file is not saved on disk. Please guide.

Without knowing the exact nature of error it would be difficult to give any suggestion.

Check if you have Schedule BFLA, CYLA & CFL 'validated', or 'compute set off'...

Dear Sir,

I have completed all steps. But while saving JSON file system processes and gives error message for CYLA-BFLA of quarterly bifurcation of LTCG in table F of sheet CG. I tried without entering capital gain figures. It gave same error

If you do not have any capital gains, in that case ignore the warning.

But in case of the capital gains, you are required to give breakup of the gains every quarterly.

I have LTCG less than 1 lakh, but due to this error system doesn't generate and save JSON file. Hence return could not be filed.

Check the net LTCG as per last figure of Schedule BFLA, where the warning appears.

Fill the figure in Schedule CG Table F. As there is no tax liability, you may fill the total figure in first quarter itself. (if you know the break-up, better). Save the table. Confirm the schedule. Validate ITR.

The error will disappear.

Faced a similar issue where I could not save the JSON file. Turns out this issue was because of something else. Following the below answer helped me to resolve it.
