My freind was working in Kolkata. Form 16 is also issued from Kolkata. Now that the ITR was not filed and have received under Sec 142(1) via online, can we file paper return in Bangalore? else what are the provisions.

Yes you can file return online but it must be u/s 142 (1)
and file a letter physically to your AO along with ITR filed
